SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Accounting Analyst assists the Senior Director of Finance in various areas of the County’s financial operations by performing complex financial tasks depending on department needs and/or project deadlines. Ensures fiscal activities comply with State and Federal regulations and County policies/procedures to ensure a sound system of internal controls is in place throughout the County.The Accounting Analyst is a vital member of the Finance Office that assists with the annual budget process, preparation of quarterly financial reporting, month-end and year-end closing activities (including preparing and analyzing financial statements), and assists with the completion of other finance-related audits as assigned by the Senior Director of Finance. The Accounting Analyst spearheads projects such as implementation of electronic vendor payments that integrate with MUNIS, evaluates alternatives for county-wide credit card solutions, performs complex general ledger account reconciliations (including the proposal of any correcting entries in the MUNIS system), reviews resources for potential grant opportunities in collaboration with the grant writer, assists with grant administration, and generates/maintains/distributes ad-hoc and financial reports.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; and
- Four (4) to five (5) years of related experience.
- Background in municipal and/or governmental accounting practices preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education, work and experience will be considered.
- CPA, CMA, or other related advanced professional degree/certification is preferred.
