GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Oversee HR practices and processes for the manufacturing facility and office environment. Organizes and coordinates the company’s critical human resource functions such as payroll processing, benefits administration, employee training and development, labor laws and regulations, and recruiting and retention processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Overseeing the recruitment and onboarding process
· Planning and implementation of training programs for all staff
· Payroll processing, including wage garnishments and voluntary deductions
· Administration of employee benefits and incentive programs
· Strategic planning and staff development
· Ensuring the Company’s policies and procedures comply with employment regulations
· Monitoring various aspects of an employee’s performance, including attendance and leaves of absence
· Facilitating disciplinary processes and formal complaints
· Maintaining all required personnel documents according to regulatory guidelines
· Setting and reviewing pay structures and employee perks and benefits
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen and effectively verbalize ideas
· Strong leadership skills to guide employees and support and motivate staff
· The ability to remain calm in stressful situations including during disciplinary hearings or staff conflicts
· Knowledge of relevant computer systems (ADP), Microsoft Office
· Strong decision-making skills in consideration of all available resources
· Solid ethics and morals and sound judgement, including the ability to handle confidential situations with professionalism and diplomacy
· Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals at all learning levels (at times with the help of a foreign language interpreter)
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
· Ability to work in an environment with moderate levels of wood dust and loud noise
· Ability to walk/stand/bend/twist/kneel occasionally, primarily sedentary position
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
· 4-year degree in related field and 5 years of proven experience in human resources, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Applicants without a degree will be considered. Salary is contingent on experience and degree.
· Strong computer proficiency - Word, Excel, Outlook, & PowerPoint
· Hands-on experience with HRIS systems, preferably ADP
· Proficiency in labor law and employee relations
