What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Loan Officer - Asset Based Lending position at Rockland Trust?
Rockland Trust is seeking an experienced Commercial Loan Officer to join the Asset Based Lending team in Boston.
The essential functions of this role include:
- Participating in soliciting, structuring and managing both new and existing business for the ABL Division.
- Developing a network of referral sources and outsource partners to lead the new business effort, calling on prospects, centers of influence and other contacts as appropriate.
- Assisting in preparing loan packages for loan approval, including submission for Senior Loan Approval Committee.
- Acting as a Credit and Lending Professional in pre-screening new business for appropriateness, structure and offering a key opinion to continue to solicit an opportunity for the Division.
- Responsible for nurturing customer relationships as well as cross-selling bank products and services.
- Assisting in the loan closing process and on-boarding of new customers.
- Participating in Industry Events and educational programs to help market the Rockland Trust Brand.
- Working with ABL Senior Leadership on various projects around the business and performing other duties as directed.
Required Skills:
- The candidate shall possess the ability to make lending recommendations, which are based on their analysis of the business's financial condition, cash flow, collateral and its repayment capacity.
- Ability to interview loan applicants to develop information concerning their business, needs, and earnings to determine whether the loan would be an acceptable risk to the Bank.
- The candidate is trained in managing an ABL portfolio of loans and understands all of the concepts unique to ABL Loans.
- Function as a key team member to help grow the ABL Division at Rockland Trust.
Required Experience:
- Formal Credit Training
- 10 Years of prior ABL Business Development and/or Relationship Management experience at a Bank.
- Prior direct underwriting experience for ABL preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience.
