What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant Teacher position at Rocklin Ranch Montessori?
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Lead Montessori Infant Teacher to join our nurturing school community in Rocklin. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood development, has Montessori training, and is ready to lead a team in providing exceptional care for infants ages 6 weeks to 18 months.
As the Lead Teacher, you will oversee a classroom of up to 12 infants with the support of 3 assistant teachers. You will be responsible for creating a calm, responsive, and developmentally appropriate environment that adheres to Montessori standards, while also ensuring daily operations are running smoothly and in compliance with California licensing regulations.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for infants ages 6 weeks to 18 months
- Leading and managing a team of 3 assistant teachers, offering guidance, mentorship, and scheduling support
- Maintaining full compliance with California Title 22 licensing regulations
- Creating and implementing a developmentally appropriate Montessori-inspired curriculum that adheres to Montessori standards
- Ensuring proper documentation of feedings, diaper changes, naps, and daily reports
- Communicating clearly and regularly with parents regarding infant development, routines, and milestones
- Supporting smooth classroom transitions and establishing predictable rhythms
- Leading classroom setup, organization, and cleanliness in accordance with health and safety standards
- Collaborating with school leadership on classroom needs, supply orders, and ongoing staff development
- Modeling respectful, Montessori-aligned interactions with children, parents, and colleagues
What We're Looking For:
- Montessori Infant/Toddler training (AMI, AMS, or MACTE-accredited) is required
- Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units, including 3 Infant/Toddler units, per California licensing requirements
- At least 6 months of experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Calm, confident, and nurturing personality
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain before start date)
- Must pass background check and health/TB clearances
