Immediate opening for Medical Office Floater (Front Desk & Call Center)
** Prior experience working Reception and/or Call Center within a Medical Office Required**
This position will work in multiple departments including; Reception, Check Out and Call Center in a high-volume multi-physician medical practice.
General Duties:
Reports to the Practice Manager. Promotes the smooth flow of patients through the check-in, check-out and call center processes. Works with the physicians and staff of Rockville Internal Medicine Group to promote the deliverance of high quality medical care.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities – Reception
1. Greets arriving patients in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner.
2. Assesses whether patients have special or immediate needs and sees that these needs are met.
3. Verifies insurance eligibility via patient’s insurance card and other ID.
4. Verifies patient identity by checking photo ID.
5. Scans insurance card and photo ID.
6. Other job duties may be assigned based on patient volume and needs of the practice.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities – Check-out
1. Assist patients leaving the office in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner.
2. Assesses whether patients have special or immediate needs and sees that these needs are met.
3. Discusses balances on accounts with patients and collect payments prior to patients leaving.
4. Prints documentation from patients chart upon physician or patients’ request. (Referrals, lab/testing results etc.)
5. Calls patients weekly who have upcoming appointments to discuss balance and collect payments.
6. Reconciles payment information with collections at close of business.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities – Call Center
1. Answer incoming calls. Performs all interactions in a professional and courteous manner, utilizing exceptional customer service skills.
2. Process a minimum of 100 calls per 8 hour shift, accurately and efficiently.
3. Schedule appointments and procedures accurately, utilizing knowledge of physician preference, insurance participation and requirements including utilization of referrals and treatment plans.
4. Triage phone calls and generate electronic transfer of messages to physicians/staff as deemed necessary.
5. Generate patient prescription requests for electronic approval and transfer from Physician to pharmacy.
6. Assist with scanning, sorting of medical documents.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Pleasant, courteous speaking manner; must have good verbal and written command of the English language.
3. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high volume and sometimes stressful environment in a professional manner.
4. Good basic typing and computer data entry skills.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills.
6. Detail-oriented with the ability to adapt to and assess changing medical insurance issues.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
