Overview:
Join our team as a Community Outreach and Volunteer Manager and make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and families in need. We are seeking an individual with a heart to serve in a Christ-centered ministry. * Pursuant to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 702 (42 U.S.C. 2000e 1(a)) Rockville Women's Center has the right to, and does, hire only candidates who agree with the Rockville Women's Center's Statement of Principle. This position provides active recruitment and management of the center's volunteer process and community outreach. The ideal candidate must have active listening skills, along with strong communication, computer, and organization skills.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, interview and process applicants for volunteer assignments at the Center
- Coordinate and arrange for volunteer orientation and training on all RWC policies and procedures
- Maintain Volunteer Job Descriptions for each volunteer assignment
- Ensure volunteers are staffed to support the various areas of operations, to include special events, development, and marketing/communications activities
- Evaluate RWC’s volunteer program to ensure effectiveness and recommend changes as appropriate
- Maintain accurate records and provide monthly statistical and activity reports on volunteer program
- Identify and attend volunteer and community outreach opportunities such as fairs, festivals, local markets to attract qualified candidates and increase RWC’s presence in the community
- Facilitate ongoing communication with volunteers
- Build relationships with groups through service and follow up communication that results in opportunity to recruit volunteers and increase RWC’s community presence
- Assist in developing and implementing outreach strategy
- Develop and manage a team of community outreach ambassadors
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 2 years of professional office experience required
- Strong time management, organizational and interpersonal skills required
- Good goal-setting and planning skills
- Good analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Must be computer literate and comfortable working with technology
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Quick learner and self-starter with keen attention to details
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Supervisory experience is a plus; bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
