Landscaper

Rockwood at Whitworth is looking for an experienced landscaper. This is a full-time, year-round position. Our campus sits on 9 beautiful acres with 27 houses and duplexes, an independent living apartment building and an assisted living building. Our Landscaping crew consists of 1 full-time landscaper and 1 seasonal employee to assist in the day-to-day activities.

Pay Range: $19.00-$21.00 per hour.

Shift Type: Full-time, (Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm)

Job Functions:

• Full Time Landscaper (year-round)
• Responsible for oversee the seasonal employee
• Meet with Residents that are moving into our community to see what changes will be made to their landscape
• Prunes trees, bushes and shrubs
• Replace dead and dying plants
• Perform re-landscaping where required
• Meet with contractors
• Help prepare annual budget
• Provide guidance on plants and their care
• Oversee sprinkler system installation and repair, including sprinkler blow-outs and start-ups
• Oversee annual flower planting
• Oversee Christmas lighting
• Organizing work orders, providing follow-up and excellent customer service
• Snow and ice removal

Requirements:

• High school or equivalent (Required)
• Horticulture degree or certificate (Preferred, not required)
• Working with the Senior Adult Population: 2 years (Preferred)
• Landscaping: 5 years (Required)
• Horticulture: 2 years (Preferred)
• Knowledge of tools, equipment, techniques, skills, materials, and methods of landscaping and maintenance of lawns and formal plantings
• Ability to lead, plan, and organize the work
• Valid driver’s license and insurance
