Purpose
The position exists to safely operate heavy trucks in the transportation of product from the production facilities to the customer or end user, as well as fulfilling other transportation needs.

Job Title Chemical Delivery Operator Position Reports To Chemical Manager FLSA Classification Nonexempt Hourly
Purpose
The position exists to safely operate heavy trucks in the transportation of product from the production facilities to the customer or end user, as well as fulfilling other transportation needs.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Safely perform assigned work and look out for the safety of others
- Operate any variety of ten wheeler or pickup or pickup and trailer combinations to transport finished goods and raw materials to and from manufacturing plants to local farmers
- Comply with DOT truck driving rules and regulations as well as with company policies and procedures
- Complete pre and post trip inspections of the vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and ensure any deficiencies are corrected
- Verify delivery instructions, and communicate with customer as needed that delivery has been made
- Work overtime as needed, especially during the seasonal busy periods
- Travel out of state occasionally as required
- Assist with delivering liquid trailers as necessary
- Load delivery vehicles with appropriate boxes, jugs, and bags of product from storage shed
- Operate piggy back heister to unload pallets at customer's locations and operate forklifts to load and unload pallets of product from and onto delivery trucks
- General labor in the yard when necessary
- Help around shop with repairs and maintenance during slow season as needed
- Complete other duties as assigned
- 1 years of verifiable truck driving experience – required (exceptions may be made based on other relevant work experience)
- CDL with acceptable driving record - required
- HAZMAT endorsement - required
- Good teamwork and communication skills - required
- Sit, stand, lift frequently; frequently lifting up to 50 pounds
- Bend, twist, climb, reach, kneel, crawl frequently
- Typical visual and auditory abilities required (with or without medically prescribed correction)
