What you will do in this role:

  • Regularly clean and disinfect restrooms, offices, showroom, and break areas including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
  • Removes trash in accordance with the established procedures.
  • Responsible for cleaning inside and outside of windows.
  • Must maintain a clean facility both inside and outside including picking up debris from isle ways and sidewalks.
  • During winter months maintenance team members perform outside duties such as snow/ice removal from sidewalks and parking lot.
  • Responsible for preventative and general maintenance for building mechanical equipment such as checking fluid, replacing filters, repairing fluorescent lamps and light ballast, etc.
  • Responsible for assembling and moving furniture such as desks and chairs.
  • Regularly clear cardboard into the compactor.
  • Must assist the Maintenance Team Leads and Supervisor with any projects that require assistance.
  • Work collaboratively and cooperatively with others, committing to a workplace of teamwork, dignity, and respect.

How you will thrive in this role:

  • A member of this team must have a working knowledge of basic custodian responsibilities including cleaning techniques/processes.
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment such as vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping.
  • Must have a knowledge of the qualities and uses of various cleaning and sanitizing compounds and must also be able to read, understand, and follow units of measure on products labels.
  • Strong ability to demonstrate the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safety work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report any unsafe conditions to appropriate supervisors.
  • Experience in maintenance (i.e. fixing lights, etc) is desired but not required.
  • Team members must be self-motivated, have extreme attention to detail, and the ability to effectively multitask in a dead-line driven atmosphere.
  • Must have the proven ability to accommodate evolving responsibilities and last-minute changes.
  • Possess the experience and/or ability to accommodate and develop solutions to address changing responsibilities and evolving business needs.
  • Ability to understand, read, and/or comprehend instructions and directions including different numbers and specifications.
  • Must be able to work scheduled hours, including weekends and/or nights when needed.
  • Be a collaborative team player who is willing to work with others and independently.
  • Strong work ethic focused on commitment, pride of work, quality, desire to learn, and dependability.

Physical Requirements:

Position performance will require the regular physical ability to walk and function in elevation changes by the means of self-propulsion, to include steps, ladders, and varied walking and working surfaces. Ability to negotiate warehouse work areas in a safe manner and behavior. Vision abilities specific to the position will include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Performing in this role will require the use of hands to use and handle tools, objects, materials, and controls. Performance requires the frequent ability to sit, talk, hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee will need to be able to read, write, and understand basics of the English language. Employee may have to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and up to 45 pounds assisted or if capable.
