Position Purpose:

Rocky Mountain Biologicals (RMBIO) is an international biotechnology company located in Missoula, Montana. RMBIO manufactures cell culture media, sera, transport media, and protein fractions for the global research, biopharma, medical, and clinical diagnostic industries. Rocky Mountain Biologicals works closely with our sister company located in South Korea.

The quality control (QC) technician will work to maintain appropriate Quality Systems consistent with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)/GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) and/or ISO requirements. QC assures compliance to in-house and/or external product specifications and standards through laboratory testing and reporting. The QC tech will perform tests and contribute to data collection, trend analysis, and investigation efforts to continually improve our processes, products, and systems.

Position Responsibilities:

· Development and utilization of testing and validation techniques to support new and current product testing methods. Maintain calibration/validation schedules. Testing expectations may include, chemistry and microbiological assays and environmental monitoring in controlled environments.

· Work closely with operations and sales personnel to identify and prioritize testing and release requirements.

· Troubleshooting logistical and technical problems as they arise in the QC/QA departments.

· Communicate with management when problems arise, providing necessary information and assisting in developing viable solutions.

· Function as an in-house QC/QA resource to support process and method/process improvement initiatives.

· Perform testing as needed in the laboratory to maintain timelines for product disposition.

· May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned by supervisor.

Position Requirements:

· Preferred candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher, or demonstrate equivalent experience, in GxP, Quality Control, Quality Assurance , Biology, Chemistry or related scientific discipline

· A working knowledge of GMP or ISO requirements, especially in regards to quality systems, laboratory practices and testing.

· Technical knowledge of analytical techniques used in the laboratory, through formal and/or informal training.

· Ability to work in a team environment and interact with other groups including Manufacturing, Process Development, Management, etc.

· Organized, with strong attention to detail.

· Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork ability.

· Ability to support project work and the ability to perform project work independently.

· Ability to proactively problem solve and mitigate issues as they arise.

Work Environment:

Position requires time in a laboratory environment, operating equipment and handling a variety of chemicals. Proper attire and adherence to safety protocols is required. Entry to all manufacturing and technical areas requires proper training and/or accompaniment by a trained area representative.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
