Catering/Event Captain (Front of House & Back of House)

We are seeking Catering/Event Captains to lead and support our dynamic team. This role is integral to ensuring seamless event execution, maintaining high service standards, and upholding our company’s core values.
Position Overview
The Catering/Event Captain is responsible for leading event staff, managing logistics, and ensuring flawless execution of events. This position requires strong leadership, adaptability, and attention to detail. With a flexible schedule that includes mid-week availability, you’ll play a crucial part in creating meaningful and memorable experiences for our clients.
We have two distinct Catering Captain roles:
Front of House (FOH) Catering Captain
The FOH Captain leads the service team, ensuring top-tier hospitality and smooth event flow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate FOH staff, including servers and bartenders.
- Arrange tables and set detailed, thematic settings for corporate functions and celebration of life ceremonies.
- Oversee buffet setup, plating, and polished presentation of dishes.
- Ensure all service aspects (plated, buffet, cocktail, etc.) run efficiently and on schedule.
- Serve food and beverages with exceptional attention to detail and guest service.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, vendors, and guests during events.
- Maintain high service standards and address any guest concerns promptly.
Back of House (BOH) Catering Captain
The BOH Captain ensures smooth kitchen operations and food service, collaborating with the culinary team to maintain quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee BOH & collaborate with Event Chefs
- Manage food handling, plating, and timing to ensure seamless service.
- Assist with kitchen setup, breakdown, and cleanliness.
- Ensure food safety, organization, and compliance with industry standards.
- Coordinate with FOH Captains to maintain a smooth event workflow.
Logistics & Equipment Handling
- Oversee the setup and teardown of catering equipment, tables, chairs, and event materials.
- Ensure safe transport of totes, trays, and equipment (lifting up to 30 lbs).
- Work in various venues, adapting to different layouts and requirements.
- Drive company vehicles as needed (valid driver’s license required).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience in catering, banquets, or hospitality leadership is required.
- A positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Reliable personal transportation.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Clean driving record and ability to drive company vehicles.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Walk/stand for 8 hours.
- Perform physical tasks such as reaching overhead, kneeling, crouching, and climbing stairs.
