POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the Bulk Packing, Barline, Dipping and Enrobing Departments.
REPORTS TO: Production Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations, participate in accident/injury investigations within the department, and work directly with injured department employees on First Reports of Injury and seeking medical attention.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the Bulk Packing, Barline, Dipping and Enrobing Departments. Plan, establish and communicate through Production Leads the work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports, to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Confer with leads and other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
- Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals.
- Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
- Observe work, monitor bloomer and scrap counts, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards. Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
- Determine staffing requirements, and interview, hire and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processes.
- Prepare and maintain work records and reports that include information such as employee time and wages, daily production, and inspection results.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- At least 2 years management or supervisory experience in a production environment.
- Must have strong analytical skills, and the ability to solve problems and be proactive in preventing them.
- Comfortable with technology tools: (Microsoft office products, email, Microsoft network accounts)
- Strong verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to carefully follow written and verbal instructions and work well under pressure.
- Must be able to accurately convey written and verbal instructions to others.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of RMCF products preferred.
- Ability to alternate between prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the shift.
- Must be able to bend, reach above waist level, grasp small objects, lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 400 pounds on a wheeled cart and/or rack.
