The Business Consultant role will provide business management advice and professional coaching to our franchisees. The Business Consultant is expected to discuss strategies to increase store level sales and improve store level profitability while recommending tactics to improve overall performance and monitor best practices that ensure compliance with RMCF brand standards. Requisite skills include business know-how related to retail and promotional sales, profit management and measurement, operational best practices, and product mix and merchandising. The Business Consultants role involves regular travel to various franchise locations two times per year, where both training and auditing routines will be performed, while offering strategic advice, and facilitating training and development initiatives. Expected travel in excess of 50% of the calendar year.
Essential Functions
- Utilize effective business management and professional coaching techniques to instruct, train, and support the franchisee in areas of store operations, customer service, merchandising, marketing, in-store cooking, personnel management, payroll control, inventory management, cost controls, and business development strategies.
- Accountable for franchisee relationship and increasing store level annual sales and improving store profitability.
- Partner with franchisees to develop strategy and business plans, using insights, data, analytics, knowledge, and past experiences to drive short, medium, and long-term goals for franchisee enterprises.
- Partner with appropriate cross-functional departments of RMCF such as Marketing, Development, Supply Chain, Training, and Finance to launch and achieve targeted results for business plans and initiatives.
- Plans field time appropriately to gain efficiencies and utilizes all systems and tools needed to execute highly effective in-market and virtual franchisee visits.
- Facilitate franchise peer connections and best practice sharing when applicable.
- Encourage participation in RMCF corporate sponsored programs designed to elevate each franchise. Promote annual RMCF National Convention attendance.
- Determine an effective business strategy by identifying unique needs of franchisee and store.
- Plan, host and arrange corporate sponsored meetings in assigned area, and participate in the arrangements of and presenting in the National Convention.
- Assist with new store setup and organization, staff training, and grand opening procedures as needed for 5 days. Provide onsite support for 3 days for every franchise store transfer.

Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelors Degree from a 4-Year accredited University or College and 3 years of industry work experience, or 7 years industry work experience
- General knowledge of business management, sales, merchandising and marketing required.
- Knowledge of retail store operations and franchisor/franchisee relationships.
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence with public speaking.
- Excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong technical and computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Sales Force and other Business Intelligence applications.
- Ability to run a PSO system or cash register and handle all forms of payment in an accurate manner.
- This is a field-based role requiring in excess of 50% travel. Overnight and week-long stays are common. Willing and able to travel throughout the United States via automotive and airline transportation. Travel on weekends may be required, and extended stays may be necessary.
Must be able to maneuver throughout a store and cooking area, bend, reach above waist level and overhead, grasp small objects, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and use cooking utensils and specialized confectionary tools, with or without reasonable accommodation.
