Primary Focus
- Assist our clients by working on a variety of IT-related projects, providing additional or backfill coverage when required, and providing hardware, infrastructure, and/or application support functions in the field.
- Support is provided to clients both remotely and in person. This may require working at remote sites.
- Delivering client focused care to ensure every client is supported and satisfied.
Job Description
- Supervision of third-party contractors performing IT-related installations or maintenance may be required
- Deployment and support of hardware and/or applications.
- Retrieving equipment and updating the online database with the newly deployed equipment as well as the old equipment.
- Working in an individual and team environment.
- Cleaning any debris left from deployed equipment.
- Meeting client deadlines and working under pressure requiring the candidate to stay organized and prioritize client projects and needs.
- Efficiently communicate with clients and coworkers, demonstrating strong verbal and written proficiency in English.
- Continuously build and maintain trust by demonstrating high ethical standards and integrity in all interactions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience Required
- Post-secondary education in a computer related discipline such as a Computer Engineering Technology diploma and at least 3 years experience in a technical support role OR an appropriate combination of education and experience required
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Office 365 Windows OS, PC hardware, networking, printers, personal wireless devices (Both Apple and Android), and remote access (Citrix, RSA, VPN) are required
- Comptia A , Network and PDI certifications are desirable.
- Experience working within ticketing/tracking software is required.
- Experience working with Security cameras, and associated hardware.
- Point to Point Wireless experience, app virtualization knowledge, would be valuable skills.
- Project coordination experience, and system deployment knowledge are valuable.
- Telephone, fax, data, and wireless radio communications support for remote facilities and offices may be required
- Network and fiber optic cable installation and termination experience are desirable
- Candidates must have the ability to think logically and be capable of analyzing complex problems
- Basic vehicle maintenance skills, checking oil, tire pressure, etc.
Working Conditions
- The co-worker will be supplied with a mobile device to ensure our clients always have access to support.
- A fleet truck will be supplied for travel to client sites.
- This position may require a successful candidate to stay in client-provided camps or hotels at times.
- The candidate may have to travel extensively.
- Camps supplied by the client have a zero-tolerance policy regarding drugs and alcohol (dry camps)
- This position requires the successful candidate to be physically capable of lifting up to 70 lbs.
- The successful candidate must be capable of operating a motor vehicle and have a clean drivers abstract
- Schedule will vary depending on location being supported
- Unscheduled or after-hours support may occasionally be required
- The successful candidate must comply with the safety standards of ESW and/or its clients

- Client Project Managers and/or Business Analysts - These individuals may provide direction regarding ongoing project-related activities
- Clients in the field - Your daily contact will be with the individuals working at the client's field sites

Reporting Relationships
- IT Consultant reports to the Service Delivery Manager
- No co-workers report to the IT Consultant.
Additional Comments
- Professional Development is available for all team members information from online resources, colleagues, training courses, certification training and conferences.
- Required safety certifications include H2S Alive, First Aid and WHMIS. These must be obtained prior to traveling to any client field sites. Other safety certifications may be required by certain clients.
- Background checks and other assessments are conditions of employment.
