What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collection Specialist position at Rocky Mountain Credit Union?
Rocky Mountain Credit Union is seeking a full-time Collection Specialist in any of our branch market areas. Rocky Mountain Credit Union offers a competitive wage plus an excellent benefits package.
Role: To preserve the Credit Union's assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments and/or recovering collateral. Perform consumer loan title tracking and follow-up. Perform RMCU supplemental insurance provision requirement tracking and follow-up. File all insurance claims for credit union, including those in regard to GAP, Debt Protection, CPI. Perform credit reporting corrections for disputed accounts. Provide assistance with credit union products and services to members. Present a friendly, professional and personable attitude that communicates to members, staff and visitors that the credit union is a friendly and professional financial institution.
Experience: Two and one-half years' experience in lending or member service is acceptable. Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education. Familiarity with basic Bankruptcy laws is preferred.
Education: A high school education or GED. Job requires a college level of language, math and reasoning skills.
Work Environment: Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Job requires limited physical effort. It is basically a desk assignment. Work within a highly structured and closely supervised environment. Ability to function in a fast-paced area. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Work creates normal fatigue daily. Work creates moderate stress during certain periods during daily routine. Job does not have specific volume and pace of work standards except that the job requires that members be served in the most timely manner possible. Job requires extensive member contact on a continual basis. The job calls for a high degree of mental concentration to interpret and act upon a wide range of situations. The job requires a degree of attention to details.
