Position Purpose
This position is responsible for general accounting duties including journal entries, program invoicing, program budget tracking, program revenue and expense accruals, account analysis and reconciliation, program financial statement analysis, maintaining financial compliance with program contracts, maintaining compliance with RMHS policy and procedure and internal controls.
Essential Duties
Organize and validate accounting data and prepare reports for assigned funding sourcesAssist in collecting and preparing documentation for the financial and funder auditsPrepare journal entries including recurring journal entriesReview various accounts payable inputs and reports to ensure expenses are coded to the correct general ledger accountSupport month-end close processPerform monthly general ledger reconciliations of balance sheet accountsWork with the finance team to provide monthly financial analysis, including revenue and expense variance analysis as assignedAdhere to internal financial controlsAccounting research and reportingAssist in developing Desk Level Procedures as appropriate to the positionSupport activities of finance staffCommunicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholdersPerform special projects to meet the needs of the department and organizationPerform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of accounting principles, concepts and practices, understand and follow U.S. GAAPAbility to organize work, set priorities, and to meet deadlinesAbility to communicate orally and in writingAbility to analyze and evaluate accounting and financial dataKnowledge of accounting softwareKnowledge of Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel, proficient in Outlook, Word and PowerPointStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsQualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or two years of accounting or equivalent area experienceProficiency in MS ExcelExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPreferred Qualifications
Non-profit accounting experience preferredExperience with accounting and reporting for governmental grants and contracts preferredExperience with Sage / Intacct preferredDriving Category - Requirements
Driving Category B :
Employees who may drive RMHS or personal vehicles for business purposes. Category B employees may transport other employees but will not transport RMHS clients
Valid driver's licenseProof of motor vehicle insurancePersonal vehicle in good operating condition for use during work, including transporting individualsNo major violations in the past three years.No more than two moving violations in the past three yearsAbility to meet and maintain agency driving requirements and operate agency vehiclesDrivers must upload proof of ongoing auto insurance every 6 months into Paycom / Relias
