We are Rocky Mountain Prep, a movement comprised of incredible educators, families, scholars, and advocates who are changing the face of public education in Colorado by democratizing college access and preparation for historically marginalized students and families. On paper, we are a network of twelve college preparatory charter schools in the Denver metro area serving students as young as twelve weeks through twelfth grade.

During the 2024-2025 school year, RMP is driving after five big goals:

  1. 85% Staff Retention
  2. 100% of campuses going green & ECE-2nd grade students growing an average of 1.25 years in math and reading
  3. 100% of seniors accepted into college
  4. 40% of 3rd-8th grade students meet their Accelerated Reader millionaire goal
  5. RMP meets its network enrollment goal

Role Mission

The Managing Director of Elementary Programming will lead the strategic vision and execution of elementary academic programming across our organization’s schools. This role ensures that all elementary students receive an exceptional, equitable education that fosters academic excellence, socio-emotional development, and a love of learning. As a key leader, the Managing Director will partner with school leaders, instructional teams, and central office staff to drive alignment, innovation, and continuous improvement in elementary programming.

 

 In this role,  you will…

1. Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a cohesive vision and strategy for elementary academic programming aligned with the organization’s mission, values, and goals.
  • Ensure alignment between curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development to drive student achievement.
  • Serve as a thought leader in elementary education, staying informed about the latest research, trends, and best practices.

2. Program Development and Implementation

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of elementary curricula, ensuring cultural responsiveness, rigor, and relevance.
  • Lead the development and adoption of instructional resources, including technology integration, to support effective teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with the Exceptional Student Services team to ensure compliance with IDEA and ADA requirements while fostering inclusion.

3. School Support and Collaboration

  • Partner with school leaders and instructional coaches to strengthen instructional practices and provide targeted support to meet diverse student needs.
  • Facilitate professional learning communities for elementary educators to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular school visits to observe instruction, provide feedback, and ensure program fidelity.

4. Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Analyze academic performance data to identify trends, celebrate successes, and address challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Data and Accountability team to develop tools and reports that inform instructional decisions.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of elementary programming.

5. Leadership and Team Management

  • Supervise and support the Elementary Academic Team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Develop and manage the elementary programming budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and equitably.
  • Represent elementary programming in cross-functional initiatives and organizational leadership discussions.
 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field; a doctoral degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in elementary education, including teaching, instructional coaching, or leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of driving academic excellence and closing opportunity gaps for historically marginalized student groups.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Deep knowledge of elementary curriculum design, instructional practices, and assessment systems.
  • Strong understanding of equity in education and a commitment to disrupting inequitable practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and educational technology platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a charter school or multi-site educational organization.
  • Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
 

Salary: $115,000- $160,000- DOE, expected to land in the first 50th percentile of range

Status: Full-Time, Salary-Exempt
