QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Must maintain an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) preferred
Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide
Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Making Patient Safety and Team Safety the number one priority
Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols
Maintaining and upkeeping digital patient information
Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
Keep exam rooms clean, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each treatment
Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
Helping the Rodeo Team maintain office cleanliness and IC protocol
Completing daily assignments
Monitoring and recording patient vital signs
Suctioning, cutting sutures, and holding retractors
Mixing amalgam, cement, and pulp paste and preparing impression materials
Pouring, trimming, and polishing impression trays
Assisting with bonding, banding, adjusting, and debonding orthodontic patients
Placing and cementing bands
Setting up orthodontic brackets and removing excess cement from brackets and bands
Making retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions
Maintaining crash cart equipment and supplies
Working with oral and IV sedated patients in office and hospital settings
Providing excellent chairside assistance and anticipating next steps to stay in constant mental synchronization with the doctor
Ensuring the patient and parent comprehends the post-op instructions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
