Job Overview: The Quality Inspector will ensure all products and processes meet company standards and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credentials (preferred) and proficiency in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods, including Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT). The Quality Inspector must have a strong understanding of Non-Destructive Testing methods, and proven expertise in inspection techniques for manufacturing processes. This role will work directly with the QA Manager and Production Manager to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the QA Manager and Production Manager to develop and implement quality inspection processes.
- Perform detailed inspections of manufactured components, welds, and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and engineering drawings.
- Utilize NDT techniques (such as VT, MT, PT, UT) to evaluate material integrity and detect potential defects.
- Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Interpret and apply welding codes and standards (AWS, ASME, ISO) to manufacturing processes.
- Document inspection findings and generate quality reports, including non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and customer quality requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing quality processes.
- Train and mentor team members about inspection best practices and quality standards.
- Participate in audits and customer inspections as required.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods and inspection techniques.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing inspection, quality assurance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in reading engineering blueprints, welding symbols, and GD&T.
- Experience with inspection tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards (AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, ISO 9001, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Certifications in NDT methods (e.g., Level I or II in PT, MT, UT, or RT) are a plus.
- Strong manufacturing experience and a desire to learn required.
- Full-time, on-site position.
- Standard office hours, Monday through Friday.
