What are the responsibilities and job description for the Saw-Planer Operator position at Roechling Industrial Gastonia, LP?
Under the direction of the RSP Operation Manager in an effort to assure continuous operation of product manufacturing by performing the following duties personally or through department production employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Producing first quality products.
- Receiving / Reading / Interpreting production orders.
- Accurately filling out production reports.
- Thoroughly clean production equipment.
- Housekeeping to include process equipment and surrounding area. All shall be cleaned daily and kept clean throughout shift.
- Remove out of spec material and place in designated area or mark appropriately.
- Proper and safe operation of equipment.
- Remain in work area. Leave area only at break time.
- Report all problems / challenges with equipment or quality of product to leadman or Production Supervisor immediately.
- Accurately Cut, Trim, and Measure final saw cut pieces per specification and requirements.
- Ability to operate a Planer when needed, and plane sheets to required tolerances.
- Assist other areas within the department during slow cutting times. Duties may include, but not limited to : Inspecting material, pulling material from the warehouse, transferring material, assisting the quality department. Assisting the loading department.
- Perform other duties assigned by production supervisor toa assist the production team.
