Associate Buyer
Job Title: Associate Buyer (Home Decor)
Reports to: Buyer or Head Merchant
Summary:
The Associate Buyer supports the company in meeting sales and margin goals. Your primary responsibility is to drive sales and margin results for an assigned inventory classification or program. You will use analysis to make decisions. You will need excellent follow through, and attention to detail. You will work closely with our business partners both external and internal. You will build relationships with, and provide support for other teams including sales, receiving, ecommerce and marketing. The Associate Buyer is responsible for partnering with Buyers and Head Merchant.
Responsibilities:
- Sales & Inventory management: Collaborate with Buyers & Head Merchant to plan sales and margin goals. Use data to develop seasonal programs and strategies. Understand SKU count, depth vs breadth, newness, and pricing/margin.
- Analysis: Analyze product trend & historical data at a department, class, and style level. Review sales performance and marketplace information to identify trends and opportunities.
- OTB management: Understand, utilize, and maintain company OTB reports. Manage product flow and receipts to support sales goals.
- Vendor Communication: Proactively build relationships with existing vendors and actively sources new resources. Negotiate best pricing and payment terms.
- Product: Demonstrate advanced product knowledge and trend awareness. Select product appropriate for the RG customer.
- Ecommerce: Collaborate with ecom team to ensure product assortment and in-stock levels support sales plans.
- Marketing: Identify marketing and promotional opportunities and contribute to development of marketing plans.
- Retail Store: Performs keyholder functions as needed. Answer calls for overrides at the registers. Provide backup and support to the Sales Team, Ecommerce Team, Operations Team (including reception) as needed.
- Data Management: Ensure data in Counterpoint is accurate at all times. Including PO entry and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or higher. 3-5 years retail experience preferred. Retail math knowledge.
- Comfortable utilizing all Microsoft Office programs and not afraid of Microsoft Excel!
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented with excellent follow through
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize projects and handle multiple tasks
Salary : $24 - $28
