Position SummaryThe Social Media and Marketing Strategist plays a pivotal role in developing and executing comprehensive social media and marketing strategies to enhance RCC’s brand visibility, engage our target audiences, and drive organizational growth. This position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our digital marketing efforts align with our overall institutional goals.
Reports To: Director, Marketing & Communications/PIO
Supervision Received: Works under the general supervision of the Director, Marketing & Communications/PIO.
Supervisory Responsibility: Supervision is not a responsibility of this position. May oversee student employees.
1. Social and Digital Media
- Develop and execute a robust social media strategy to increase brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation.
- Manage and maintain RCC’s social media profiles on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, RCC’s college app, and others.
- Create and curate engaging content, including text, images, videos, and infographics, tailored to each platform
- Monitor and engage with our online community, responding to comments, messages, and reviews promptly and professionally.
- Develop and nurture relationships with influencers and partners for collaboration opportunities.
- Utilize analytics tools to track social media and marketing performance, providing regular reports and insights.
- Use data to refine strategies and make data-driven decisions.
2. Graphic Design
- Produce high-quality and relevant content that resonates with RCC’s target audiences.
- Collaborate with graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and writers to create compelling multimedia content as needed.
- Ensure content is optimized for SEO and brand consistency.
3. Photography and Videography
- Sources, schedules, and coordinates with contracted photographers and videographers.
- Attends college events to take videos and photographs for use on social media and to produce marketing materials for RCC as needed.
- Maintains online video and photo galleries and archives for use by the college community in marketing and recruitment efforts.
4. College App Administration
- Serves as the primary administrator of the RCC application, including coordination with the third-party contact and IT, providing user support to students and employees, managing, and monitoring content, and leading continuous improvement efforts based on user experience data.
5. Project Management
- Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns across various channels, including email marketing, paid advertising, and social media ads.
- Optimize campaigns for maximum ROI and effectiveness.
- Oversee social media subscriptions and advertising contracts.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging platforms.
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Ensure all online content aligns with RCC’s brand guidelines and values.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and image across all platforms.
6. Other Duties as Assigned
- May participate in college committees as assigned.
- Engage in professional growth opportunities as assigned.
- Support the director in executing department goals.
- Support colleagues within the marketing and communications department as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

1. Minimum Qualifications
- Education – Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing or related field is required.
- Experience – A minimum of three years of experience that includes professional experience in journalism and/or marketing, new media, or a related field, including brand translation to social media, developing online promotions and email marketing, and evaluating strategy is required.
Only degrees received from an accredited institution will be accepted: accreditation must be recognized by the office of degree authorization, US Department of Education, as required by ORS 348.609. Final candidate will be required to provide official transcripts for required degree.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness
Rogue Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan.
