Rohde & Schwarz Defense, Security, & Critical Infrastructure (DS&CI) group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to lead the technical implementation of a Radio Direction Finding (RDF) system designed for Own-Force Monitoring. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary technical point of contact (POC) for the customer, ensuring that all engineering activities align with program objectives and customer requirements. This role demands a deep understanding of radio frequency technologies, systems engineering, and defense applications, along with exceptional leadership and communication skills. Experience in software engineering is highly desired to support the integration of software components with the RDF system.

The total compensation for this position is $135K-$215K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.

Your tasks
- Act as the primary technical liaison between the company and the customer, establishing and maintaining strong relationships to ensure clear communication of technical requirements and project status related to the delivered system.
- Oversee the technical execution of the program, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet project milestones and deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff, promoting best practices in radio frequency engineering, and system integration, verification, and validation (IVV).
- Conduct regular technical reviews and presentations for the customer, addressing any concerns and providing updates on project progress, system performance, and capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program management, software development, quality assurance, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of engineering efforts for delivered systems.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the program lifecycle, implementing corrective actions as necessary to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that may impact the development and deployment of proposed and delivered systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position on DoD or USG programs, specifically in RF systems or related technologies.
- Proven experience as a primary technical POC for government contracts and Own-Force Monitoring requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of radio direction finding technologies and systems engineering principles.
- Experience in software engineering, including software design, development, and integration, is highly desired.
- Knowledge of SysML (Cameo) is desired to support system modeling and design activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges in system design and integration.
- Must be U.S. person capable of receiving U.S. Gov’t security clearance
