Title: Associate Application Engineer - Marine

Key Accountabilities:
- Provide technical solutions assistance for regional projects, including product selection, order confirmation, marine vessel integration & installation, and product start-up & marine vessel commissioning.
- Collaborates with the sales organization in the bid/no bid process requiring technical project support.
- Compile installation specifications and guidelines for regional projects and maintain records.
- Assist in supporting the commissioning process for prototypes and 1st installations.
- Participates in the implementation of regional requirements regarding the needs of the sales and service organization.
- Identify, evaluate, and collaborate across all applications for development of new features and products (Internal Processes: CTI and AzB or via 3rd Party Design Firms).
- Support the development of engineering knowledge tools (technical presentations, product documentation, product registration, training material, etc.) that act as a catalyst for the sales organization’s efforts to grow mtu market share.
- Participate in the training/qualification process of internal and external sales organizations on Rolls Royce America Solutions’ product portfolio and sales tools.
- Provide technical support for the marine sales organization at trade shows, conferences, and customer visits.
- Ensure all functions are implemented in agreement with the Rolls Royce Power Systems Marine Application Center (Department: MME).
- Collaborate with the service organization using application related problem-solving skills.
- Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
- Perform special projects as required.
- Bachelors of Science degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering; or 4 four years of experience in marine engineering, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering
- Knowledge of principles and operations of internal combustion engines
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Good analytical ability to gather facts, draw conclusions, and develop a solution
- Good problem-solving abilities when problems are complex
- Good self-starter with the ability to work extended periods without supervision
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good presentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good ability to work effectively with others
- Ability to travel – domestic and international (up to 50%)
- Proficient with PC, MS Office and basic ability with MS Project
- Technical knowledge of diesel and mobile gas engines
- Exhaust emission experience (Gas After-treatment and EPA, CARB, IMO Regulations)
- Technical knowledge of marine propulsion systems
- Experience with electronic control systems
- Ability to interpret blueprints and installation drawings
