Position Summary:
The Operations Analyst - Logistics is responsible for strategic planning and assessment to enhance efficiency within the freight supply chain. Key duties include scheduling and coordinating freight, overseeing deliveries, and ensuring follow-through to achieve customer satisfaction while driving profitability through continuous improvement initiatives. This role is crucial to the company's day-to-day success.
Key Accountabilities:
- Plan, initiate, and manage logistics projects to ensure they stay within budget, schedule, and scope.
- Analyze all logistics operations to identify the most cost-effective and efficient methods for transporting products or supplies.
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including transportation, warehouse activities, and logistics quality management.
- Coordinate the transportation and storage of imported and exported goods.
- Monitor the location of goods, anticipate delays or priority changes, and develop alternative action plans as needed.
- Communicate with internal and external customers regarding schedules, meetings, and any issues that arise.
- Review carrier billing details for discrepancies and notify the appropriate personnel of any findings.
- Maintain an up-to-date vendor database, including contracts and rates.
- Keep management informed on project progress, developments, and potential issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and implement consistent, standardized processes.
- Assist with Import/Export and CTPAT areas as necessary.
- Promote and foster a compliance culture within the area of responsibility and adhere to the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct both in letter and spirit.
- Undertake special projects as assigned.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration and 3 years of experience in supply chain/logistics management in a manufacturing environment e; or 7 years of experience in supply chain/logistics management in a manufacturing environment
- In order to be considered for this position, you must be a US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of business and management principles involved with supply chain management, strategic planning, resource allocation, customer service, production methods, information technology, and coordination of people and resources
- Strong ability to handle third party vendor, including tender creation, negotiation and coordination
- Strong analytical ability and creative problem-solving skills, when problems are complex
- Strong organizational, planning and follow up skills
- Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
- Self-starter with the ability to work extended periods without supervision
- Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
