Mechanical Integrity Engineer

As a Mature Programs Structural Engineer you will be responsible for providing Finite Element Analysis to support the T56 and Helo Engines. The Mature Program Engineering Team has both Design Engineers and Stress Analysts who collaborate to support delivery and safety. You will provide analytical results to answer and influence Red Tops and SAR closure statements. Your analysis will also be influential in re-engineering the aging supply chain with new technologies like ALM.
The position operates under the hybrid work model. Weekly in person collaboration at the Meridian Center is required, but the team embraces flexibility and working from home throughout the week.

Key Accountabilities
- Perform FEA structural assessments of gas turbine hardware and systems via ANSYS
- Maintain ECPP’s of Helo and T56 critical parts
- Lead FEA and lifing analysis required to understand PPR, high impact MRB, SARs, and Red Tops
- Create FEA validation and justification for engineering changes through the DTA process
- Coach Design Engineers to understand the structural concerns in their design changes
- Possess strong critical thinking and problem solving skills and the ability to work in a high pressure and fast paced environment
- Experience using ANSYS to analyze gas turbine hardware and systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 3 years of experience in Aerospace, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering OR;
- A Masters degree in Engineering with 1 years of experience in Aerospace, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering OR;
- JD/PhD with 0 years of experience in Aerospace, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen
- Ability to use logic and judgement to leverage field experience with FEA results to simplify work scope
- Ability to perform dynamic assessments
- Ability to perform fatigue crack growth assessments
- Technical writing ability / experience
- Design experience from multiple component areas (i.e. rotating wheels, structures, compressor vanes, etc.)
