Job Description Vice-President – Government Relations Washington D.C. A new opportunity has arisen to join us as The Vice President - Government Relations. As The Vice President of Government Affairs you will be a key player on a team of government relations professionals. In this role you will be responsible for building relationships between all Rolls-Royce business units, the United States Congress, the U.S. Department of Defense and other key federal Executive Branch agencies in Washington, D.C. You will be responsible for executing strategies to achieve specific company priorities as well as assisting in the development and review of those strategies and priorities. You will also be responsible for forging and maintaining relationships with members of Congress and staff along with selected executive branch officials. Government relations or Capitol Hill experience is required for this position. Key Accountabilities: Succinctly and capably translates Rolls-Royce technical capabilities, product offerings and market opportunities for defense applications; Monitors all stages of projects for politically important government business and serves as a resource for the dissemination of information to US government officials; Monitors authorization and appropriations, coordinates with relevant agencies and committees to secure additional funding/sales opportunities where possible; Advises and supports our company in the areas of public policy and corporate governance; Advises RRNA senior leadership, program managers and offers strategies for advancing RRNA priorities on Capitol Hill and in the various states and territories; Independently foster business development opportunities to support Rolls-Royce objectives. Basic Requirements: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree with 8 years of experience as a Legislative Assistant or Professional Staff Member on Capitol Hill preferred; OR Master of Science or Master of Arts Degree with 6 years of experience as a Legislative Assistant or Professional Staff Member on Capitol Hill preferred; OR JD/PhD with 3 years of experience as a Legislative Assistant or Professional Staff Member on Capitol Hill preferred; Preferred Requirements: Detail-oriented, analytical thinker, and self-starter; Ability to recommend meetings and communication opportunities with Congress and selected agency officials; Advanced writing experience is required; Excellent communicator with stellar verbal skills who can advocate on behalf of clients and influence elected officials; Possess an understanding of the Defense authorization/appropriations process; Deep knowledge of Rolls-Royce product offerings; Broad knowledge of Executive and Legislative processes; Significant experience in marketing; The ability to secure and maintain a US DoD Top Secret Security clearance; Extensive experience creating and presenting executive presentations, reports, briefings, and/or proposals to senior level stakeholders.
