Exciting Job Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our team as a Senior Accountant.
PURPOSE OF JOB:
This non-supervisory position is responsible for accounting and bookkeeping activities, payroll processing, and assisting with accounting and financial reports. This position is also responsible for ensuring the company is compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations including sales tax laws, luxury tax laws, and cash receipt reporting rules.
JOB DUTIES:
Accounting Responsibilities
- Process payroll on a biweekly basis, including calculating and/or verifying commissions, 401(k) reporting, and other payroll reporting required.
- Administer payroll policies and procedures.
- Review and correct accounting for all purchased, traded, or sold vehicles, including appropriate application of brand incentives.
- Review WIP for service orders monthly and post corrections as needed.
- Perform appropriate month-end and quarter-end reconciliations of all general ledger schedules.
- Prepare month-end financial reporting summaries and schedules as assigned by the Controller.
- Assist the Controller in ensuring all accounting activities are performed accurately and on time, including collection of receivables, payments to vendors, and trade-in vehicle lien payoffs.
- Provide backup support for the daily floor plan process, daily bank deposit, and service and parts repair order processing.
- Perform weekly reconciliation of contracts in transit schedule. Issue refunds to customers as necessary and notify management of any outstanding customer debts.
- Ensure compliance with all internal controls.
- Set up new users in the company’s Dealer Management System (DMS).
- Complete the yearly Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) reporting.
- Assist with the development and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators of the business.
- Cross-train with other departmental staff, as assigned by management.
General
- Ensure prompt and regular attendance.
- Perform other appropriate duties as may be assigned by Management.
- Travel as business needs may require.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
Experience:
- 3 years of accounting experience.
- Prior auto dealership experience is preferred, but not required.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of business and employee information. Prior payroll experience is a plus.
