Position Purpose: The Production Lead I responsibility is to maintain production rates to the highest. Ensuring that all finished goods meet customer's specifications, GMPS and internal SOPs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Make sure Quality Leaders are on the lines and ready to work 15 minutes before the shift starts.
- Make sure Line workers are on the lines and ready to work 5 minutes before the shift starts.
- Follow the production schedule provided by the planning department.
- Plan new jobs as per schedule
- Obtain documentation from the Production Coordinator and ensure the BOM and specs are correct for the new job.
- Review First Article ahead of time.
- Assign lines to Quality Leaders ahead of time.
- Review samples of new jobs done by QL.
- Communicate with previous shift to have QLS assigned to lines up on the production screen daily.
- Communicate with previous shift about any changes or updates before shift starts.
- Have production TV screen ready before the next shift starts with the QL name next to each assembly line number to direct line workers as provided by previous shift Production lead I.
- Inspect date code, expiration, record inspection on the “Supervisor checklist.”
- Ensure Line set-ups are done efficiently, Quality Leaders have the correct number of people, and every person is performing the right task as per specifications given.
- Provide information, documentation and proper tools to the Quality Leader to perform the job.
- Give goals to reach the Quality Leader. (Amount of finished goods, revenue expected). On daily Basis.
- Review rates for every data form as frequently as possible to maintain or adjust lines to keep production to the highest. * Work with Quality Leaders and adjust the production lines during the day to increase production.
- Maintain a safe work environment by educating and directing personnel on proper use of all equipment, with setting up mechanical assistance.
- Work together with Quality Leaders to make sure the assembly lines are clean and always organized.
- Review QL documentation to make sure it is filled & signed properly following GMPS & customer requirements.
- Coordinate absent/vacation of QL & Line workers to make sure the amount of personnel required to run jobs is covered.
- Communicate any changes and updates to the next shift.
- Make the jobs that have been running are started in company with the next shift.
- Work together with other departments to accomplish the highest quality of goods, accurate reconciliations, and the flow of materials to the line.
- Work together with Logistics department to keep a good flow of inbound and outbound.
- Work together with the engineering department and set up mechanics in the set-up of new jobs and during the process of them to keep down time to the minimum.
- Automate lines whenever possible to increase profitability & efficiency.
- Work together with the Production Coordinator to make sure the correct documentation is obtained.
- Work together with Label room to keep the flow of labels required on each assembly line.
- Work together with Lead set-up coordinator to make sure jobs are set in timely manner & properly.
- Assist Production Lead I when required.
- Make sure to obtain information from Production Lead I, QL support, Set Up coordinators, & set up a mechanic to transfer correct & accurate information to the next shift production lead.
- Provide information, documentation and proper tools to the Quality Leader to perform the job.
- Review of Quality Leaders paperwork.
- Record inspections on the “Supervisor checklist.” (date code, expirations)
- Work overtime (extended hours, Saturdays and Sundays).
- Follow GMP, follow policies.
- Work with other Leaders to make sure of a smooth transition between shifts.
