What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Services Coordinator - Overnight position at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland &...?
We exist so families can get better together. Each night, we keep 181 families close to the care and resources they need through six area Ronald McDonald Houses® and four Ronald McDonald Family Rooms®. Enabling families to stay close to their hospitalized child supports the health and well-being of the child and saves families more than $10 million in hotel and food costs each year. We also operate the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile® program, providing medical care to children in underserved areas. RMHC-CNI is an independent not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Family Services Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for welcoming and orienting guests, coordinating check-ins and check-outs, and ensuring a supportive environment for families, volunteers, and donors. You will act as a liaison with hospitals to manage referrals and reservations, enforce program policies, and provide resources to assist families during their stay. Additionally, you will oversee room assignments, track occupancy, and maintain cleanliness in common areas to create a comfortable and well-organized space. Administrative tasks such as data entry, incident reporting, and monthly tracking of guest donations and occupancy rates are also key components of this position.
The ideal candidate has at least two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Strong multitasking skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a compassionate approach to assisting families in crisis are essential. This role requires flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as well as the physical ability to perform household tasks and lift up to 35 lbs. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to lead volunteer activities, meal groups, and special events, fostering a welcoming community for all guests. If you are a dedicated and empathetic professional looking to make a meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply!
