Overview
We are seeking a talented and motivated Communication Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies that enhance our brand presence and engage our target audience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in digital marketing, advertising, and analytics, with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
Responsibilities
- Proven experience in marketing or communications roles, with a focus on digital marketing strategies.
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans that align with marketing objectives.
- Create engaging content for various platforms, including social media, websites, and print materials.
- Utilize tools such as Google Analytics to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns.
- Collaborate with the advancement team to design digital marketing initiatives that drive performance.
- Conduct research to identify market trends and audience preferences to inform communication strategies.
- Write and distribute press releases, media relations content, and bi-annual newsletter content
- Promote the organization through public relations initiatives
- Manage RMHC Chattanooga’s social media assets, including campaign ideation and execution
- Identify, develop and execute communications strategy for key media contacts
- Develop and manage media relationships and coordinate press interviews
- Design and launch email marketing fundraising campaigns
- Maintain website design and operation
- Create and maintain organization literature and other forms of communication
- Develop fresh story ideas
- Accurately input data into databases and update existing records
- Ensure data integrity by exercising routine data quality checks
- Organize and maintain files, paper and digital, to support data accuracy
- Work with your team members to verify and correct data discrepancies
- Maintain confidentiality and security of data at all times
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in communication or marketing or the equivalent in experience is desired and 2 years related work experience
- Passion for RMHC’s mission and making a difference
- Experienced with Adobe programs – Photoshop and Constant Contact specifically
- Confident communicator and outstanding interpersonal skills
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading and layout/design skills are essential
- High degree of problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated and team player
- Superior project, time and organizational management skills
- Flexibility with changes in task and priorities along with using sound judgment
- Able to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
- Individual must be willing to work a flexible schedule and provide his/her own transportation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.

- Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
- Physical demands may change when a special event occurs. Employee may lift or move heavy objects, load and unload trucks, and spend most of the weekend, or event time, standing
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
