Program Volunteer Manager

The Program Volunteer Manager oversees the operations, staffing, volunteers, and facility-designated programs of Ronald McDonald Charities of Rochester, NY (RMHCR) pertaining to carts and family rooms. This position directly interacts with, anticipates, and serves the needs of families and promotes an atmosphere of warmth and understanding. The activities of this position require some on-call, evening, and weekend hours.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance operations, policies, procedures in oversight of RMHCR programs (carts and family rooms located in local hospitals)
- Engage in recruiting and outreach of volunteers
- Manage priorities and assigns tasks for volunteers
- Interact with health care partners, volunteers, and RMHCR staff
- Train staff and volunteers and ensure ongoing work satisfaction and quality
- Create and perform to departmental budget
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations with families, volunteers, and health care partners
- Responsible for family check-in, orientation, and maintenance of family room and cart programs
- Oversee records and databases pertaining to family information, statistics, finances, and other information. Ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures.
- Schedule and confirm coverage for all program hours and covers for gaps in scheduling
- Lead a team of three employees
Experience
- Bachelor's degree, preferred
- 2 proven experience in volunteer management or related fields in the nonprofit or healthcare sector
- Strong public speaking experience with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively and possessing advanced interpersonal skills with a focus on building relationships within the community.
- Intuitive to the needs of families in crisis. Trauma informed.

Pay: $60,410.00 per year
