At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay, our mission is to provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families and promote healing when children need healthcare.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay (RMHCTB) has been working to improve the health and well-being of children and their families since 1980. Our primary program, the Ronald McDonald House, provides a place to stay for families that have children receiving medical treatment at Tampa Bay hospitals and outpatient centers. RMHCTB operates 4 Ronald McDonald Houses in Tampa Bay, 3 located in St. Petersburg and 1 located in Tampa.

Overview

Work location : East House Primary, all properties

Schedule : Generally, a set schedule, Sunday - Thursday, 4 : 00 pm - 9 : 00 pm

JOB SUMMARY

The coordinator position is a part-time position that reports to the Enrollment Specialty Programs Manager. The coordinator will primarily be responsible for processing incoming requests / referrals to stay from both families and hospital partners; however, it will also lend support to our specialty programming. Additionally, the Coordinator is responsible for assisting in providing guest services to families in the Houses in a Manager-on-Duty capacity on an "as-needed" basis, including responding to emergencies, ensuring proper registration and check-out procedures, assisting with guest services, and maintaining a home-like and supportive environment. All functions will be performed while maintaining the safety and security of the house and residents with hospitality, compassion, and professionalism.

Required Knowledge / Experience / Skills Include :

• Demonstrated ability to problem solve and multitask; ability to learn and work within databases to ensure accurate family records.
• Must be customer service oriented, including strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle and address sensitive situations with confidentiality, decorum, and protocol.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to / from work and to regularly deliver supplies to hospital partners (mileage reimbursement provided for official business-related trips). Occasional commuting to our Tampa location on Davis Islands is required.
• Must meet healthcare requirements of partner hospitals, complete biannual CPR training and annual fire alarm training.

Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Experience

Mental Demands :

The ability to read and comprehend documents and instruments. Must perform detailed work utilizing reasoning and problem-solving skills and complete multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions. Must be able to serve as a pro-active resource for guests, staff, and community members.

Physical Demands :

This job involves all the following in various degrees but is not limited to only these physical demands : attendance, standing, sitting, walking, squatting, carrying, lifting, climbing, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, cleaning, typing, writing, hearing, seeing, speaking. The ability to push up to 50 pounds and lift up to 40 pounds.

Equipment :

Common kitchen and laundry appliances; typical office equipment.

Special Notes :

The probationary period is 90 days. A review will be conducted by the direct supervisor at 90 days and 1 year; yearly review thereafter with salary consideration by RMHCTB. This position is eligible for 401(k) plan only.
