Position Summary
The Volunteer Services and Meal Planning Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, orienting, scheduling, and managing of all volunteers for House operations, marketing events, and all aspects of meal planning. This role is important because we are increasing capacity to serve more families. It is critically important to have a key employee in place who can be a positive liaison for our volunteer groups and coordinate meals to further our mission and ensure compliance with RMHCCV policies and food service regulations in our kitchens.
The Volunteer Services and Meal Planning Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining an organized volunteer filing system, including volunteer records.
Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute a safe and healthy food service program that will deliver value for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley guests, volunteers and staff.
2. Manage and comply with Ronald McDonald House Global standards regarding food safety.
3. Provide coordination, direction, supervision and training to volunteer meal groups.
4. Direct, assign and schedule daily house warmer duties.
5. Create a nutritious menu program for guest families and volunteer meal groups.
6. Take the initiative and prepare meals on days there is no volunteer group, as well as weekend food preparation that can be prepared ahead of time.
7. Coordinate and oversee the operation of the Family and Volunteer kitchen areas.
8. Control food and operating supply inventories within budget guidelines.
9. Develop menus utilizing donated foods and purchased product.
10. Build relationships with food vendors to best manage expenditures.
11. Monitor and control expenditures within an assigned budget.
12. Maintain an inventory supply system.
13. Organize food service operation for special events, activities and meetings.
14. Stay current in the food service field by pursuing opportunities for professional development.
15. Keep both pantries organized and appropriately stocked.
16. Keep both kitchens organized and tidy.
17. Have To-go Bag process in place and for departing families.
18. Have a complete plan in place for chef visibility…programs, impromptu recipe sharing, cooking demonstrations, nutrition sharing, etc.
19. Assist in turning volunteers into donors.
20. Accurately record all incoming donation and volunteer information into database.
21. In a timely manner, prepare correspondence and special acknowledgments to donors and submit to [PERSON] for approval.
22. Promote volunteerism during community outreach events and speaking engagements; [create volunteer opportunities]. Represent the organization professionally in the community.
23. Schedule volunteers to assist with daily Front Desk and other House duties, special events, and community outreach events.
24. In partnership with Operations Department leaders, coordinate annual in-house events, including the Christmas Party, the Open House, and the Volunteer Recognition Event.
25. Plan and coordinate the annual RMHC Volunteer Recognition Dinner in April, including the theme, entertainment, volunteers, and special awards.
26. Organize and maintain volunteer records.
27. Prepare, on a monthly basis, the meal calendar of volunteers providing breakfast, lunch, or dinner for families.
28. Maintain overall organization and volunteer orientation for kitchen, equipment and food supplies.
29. Providing training and orientation to volunteer groups.
30. Communicate and enforce Madera County Health Department requirements for food safety.
31. Become Food Safety Certified and/or maintain food safety certification. Ensure groups using the kitchen maintain and follow all food safety regulations.
32. Provide kitchen orientation and trainings for volunteer groups and provide tours as requested
33. Schedule and communicate with upcoming meal and activity groups, before their service by sending information, guidelines and confirmations.
34. Have a working knowledge of House volunteer guidelines, policies, and procedures.
35. Maintain up-to-date scheduling calendars for our website and communicate access to the public and staff through multiple channels and avenues.
36. Maintain up-to-date meals and menu calendars for internal use, including receipts, thank you notes, pictures and surveys.
37. Communicate with Director of Development and Communications and Director of Marketing on a regular basis informing of new groups being involved with RMHC Central Valley that have donor potential.

- Experience in working with volunteers within a community benefit or non-profit organization is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of other computer software including Exceed.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
