We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Superintendent to oversee field operations for large-scale construction projects, ensuring safety compliance, quality control, and timely project completion. The Senior Superintendent will be responsible for managing on-site safety, adhering to project specifications, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring that construction progresses according to the schedule. This role involves collaboration with multiple internal departments, conducting progress meetings, managing inspections, and implementing proactive change management strategies. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in construction management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects.
The Location
Roncelli is in Sterling Heights, Michigan, however this position will report onsite an assigned jobsite at hire, which could vary throughout the state of Michigan.

Qualifications
Roles and Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility for on-site safety. Work closely with Safety Department to ensure all Client, MIOSHA and corporate safety policies and procedures are followed.
- Primary responsibility for quality, conformance to drawings, specifications and local codes. Senior Superintendent will work with the project management team to develop and implement the project(s) quality control program.
- Provide input for the preparation of work scopes, selection of subcontractors, cost estimating.
- Participate in post bid review meetings and project kick off meetings.
- Work closely with project management and other internal departments including Safety, Self-perform, Estimating, Accounting, Payroll, Billing & Document control to further ensure project success at all stages including project close out.
- Generate weekly reports documenting key milestone items completed and those approaching.
- Conduct weekly progress and coordination meetings with Clients, Subcontractors, design consultants and other project stakeholders to identify long lead items, resolve design issues, address schedule concerns, outstanding subcontractor documentation and formulate corrective action plans if warranted.
- Develop and maintain detailed 3 week look ahead schedules.
- Provide input and coordination for milestone construction schedules of the project’s work.
- Schedule and monitor inspections by authorities having jurisdiction (IE: state, county, Local) and by third party testing agencies as required by project documents.
- Maintain or manage daily reporting and document control system for both internal use and client use when required.
- Provide proactive change management to avoid unwanted project costs
- Work closely with the project management team to ensure that changes to work scopes including cost and schedule impacts are communicated to and approved by the owner prior to implementing said changes.
- Ensure that subcontractors working on change work have proper written authorizations prior to the commencement of the work
- Closely monitor and document quantities of materials and man hours in a timely fashion for authorized time and material, or unit priced based extra work items. Utilize third party testing and inspection agencies when applicable to verify quantities.
- Obtain Client confirmation of time and material and or units completed if required by the contract documents.
- Work with and direct project superintendents, assistant superintendents, project Engineers and administrative staff to ensure proper documentation of changes in the work or documents.
- Manage, supervise and mentor others as needed to run multiple projects, phases or shifts etc. while ensuring customer satisfaction at all levels.
- Participate in monthly progress / status update meetings, reporting to company leadership on project status, schedule, budget as well as potential exposure or opportunity.
Skill and Knowledge
Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
Experience: 10 years of relevant experience in construction as a Superintendent or Project Manager.
MUST Certified, OSHA 30 hr., LEED AP or GA, Certified Storm Water Operator, First Aid & CPR Certified.
- Individual must be highly skilled in construction document comprehension
- Advanced understanding of all trade disciplines; civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and low voltage systems
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in construction means & methods, sequencing of work and the ability to manage to and update detailed construction schedules.
- Highly motivated to maintain construction quality, schedule
- Ability to understand all aspects of a large complex project or multiple projects
- Ability to recognize problems and issues, propose and implement “best result” solutions
- Conflict resolution and mitigation
- Ability to delegate and follow up for completion of project work tasks by subordinates

- Strong computer skills are a must. Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Project, Procore and any customer required software (i.e. Covisint, Contract Manager and E-Builder).

Salary : $90,000 - $125,000
