Position: Café Team Member
Reporting Relationship: Café Manager
Compensation Structure: $16/hr Tip Pool (averages add’l $5/hr)

We are looking responsible and reliable team members who are passionate about plant-based food and view food as medicine. You possess attention to detail and quality, are organized, customer-oriented and truly find joy in nourishing others with clean, healthy, food made with love. The Cafe Team Member would also require experience in preparing orders (may involve light cooking) and plating food, preparing juices and smoothies, opening and closing the café, keeping the seating area sanitized and organized and positive interactions with customers.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Welcoming, Safe & Positive Customer Experience
- Highest level of cleanliness and organization at the front counter, back kitchen and customer seating area
- Follow opening and closing procedures
- Comply with sanitation guidelines
- Maintain clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
- Maintain clean and uncluttered customer bussing and dining area
- Ensure all food, beverage and supplies are stored properly
- Menu and ingredient knowledge; including complementary additions where appropriate
- Accurate customer ordering and timely expo of order including delivery service orders
- Answer phone, greet customers and process all in-dining or delivery orders
- Accurate cash handling
- Assuring customer satisfaction, relationship-building and retention
Quality Food & Beverage Preparation per Specifications
- Prepping fruits and vegetables for various menu items as needed, including juices/smoothies
- Light cooking, heating and assembling bowls, salads, juices/smoothies to order as well as grab ‘n go items (Line Cook Experience a Plus)
- Consistency of plating, portion control and presentation
Requirements:
- 2-5 years food preparation or service experience required for team members
- Great communication and customer service skills
- Ability to consistently deliver quality in a timely manner
- Computer savvy (Word, Excel, Office); working knowledge of POS programs
