Roots Ocean Prime Darien is currently seeking a career minded Sous Chef looking to work alongside our Executive Chef for our GRAND OPENING! This individual is passionate about the culinary industry! As a part of our management, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of culinary excellence and ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.

A tasting and trail will be necessary for this position so that we can assess your skillset throughout the interviewing process.

Responsibilities:
- Ensuring all dishes are prepared to the restaurant's standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.
- Tracking stock levels, placing orders, and minimizing waste.
- Implementing and enforcing health and safety protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Addressing issues that arise in the kitchen, such as equipment malfunctions, staff shortages, or customer complaints.
- Directly involved in preparing and cooking dishes, especially during peak service periods.
- Ensuring dishes are plated attractively and according to established standards.
- Assist Executive Chef with any culinary needs

Requirements
- 2-4 years of Sous Chef experience in an upscale casual dining or fine dining environment.
- The ability to interpret and manage recipes to ensure compliance and minimize waste.
- Strong broiler skills are required.
- An excellent attention to detail.
