What we are looking for

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team at Roots. A successful Accounts Payable specialist combines excellent analytical skills with a knowledge of accounting principles. The hired applicant would use those exemplary qualities to maintain accounts payable records while working in a fast-paced environment with reliable team members. Candidates with collaborative and team-based experience will be preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable using accounting software and other programs - Ensure uploads contain all the necessary information and are completed in a timely manner
• Process accounts payable for separate entities and vendors
• Analyze workflow processes and recommend process improvements for enhanced team performance
• Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors
• Ensure bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
• Analyze invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment
• Process invoices for payments
• Compare purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges
• Assist with year-end 1099 process and execution
• Assist with AP audits, due diligence requests, other ad-hoc projects in line with work responsibility.
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

• Associate/bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
• Previous experience in accounting or other related fields preferred
• Previous experience in Real Estate industry preferred
• Previous experience working with Avid Xchange highly preferred
• Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
• Detail and deadline-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills written and verbal.
• Ability to adjust to changing priorities and circumstances.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Mid-level proficiency in using Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams applications.
