Job Title : Division Sourcing & Procurement Manager
Shift Timing : First Shift
Location : Simi Valley, CA 93063
Pay rate : $120K to $195K
Role Overview :
Manages the procurement of raw materials, parts, equipment, and operating supplies required for production. Drives lean enterprise systems throughout the procurement process. This position reports directly to the Division Supply Chain Manager and works with all levels of Division management, including operational, engineering, quality control, marketing, and finance. Supervises the Sourcing / Commodity Manager, Sourcing Specialist, and Buyer. Engages in key supplier and customer interactions.
Experience in :
- Operations : Ability to challenge and support suppliers with operational plans to meet delivery timelines.
- Supplier Relationship Management : Proven ability to develop strong supplier relationships and willingness to regularly visit suppliers.
- Technical Expertise : Some technical capability through experience and / or education, preferably in commodities like metal purchasing from Simi Valley.
- Project Management : Excellent skills in managing supplier recovery from start to finish.
- Problem Solving : Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Commodity Management : Successful track record in managing multiple and diverse commodities.
- Contract & LTA Negotiation : Experience in contract negotiations, including FARS / DFARS flowdown.
- Process Improvement : Focus on Standard Work and process improvements.
Job Core Responsibilities :
Procurement Activities : Plan and direct the Division's purchases of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and services. Identify material requirements based on production specifications, operational schedules, and engineering quality standards.Cost Management : Determine the most cost-efficient and reliable materials for the manufacturing process.Supplier Selection : Establish criteria for preferred suppliers based on price, quality, delivery, certifications, and compliance with governmental procurement regulations.Supplier Negotiation : Select, interview, and negotiate with suppliers to address material / cost issues.Strategic Sourcing : Promote strategic suppliers and ensure that the purchasing strategy includes leveraging both local and Group strategic suppliers.Continuous Improvement : Work with suppliers to develop continuous improvement programs, focusing on quality, delivery, service, and price.Re-Order Procedures : Develop automated or standard reorder processes.Crisis Management : Establish crisis management and supplier backup contingency programs.Supplier Best Practices : Develop and benchmark best practices among suppliers, maintaining accurate measurements and records.Budget and Strategy : Ensure purchases and capital expenditures align with division strategies and department budgets.Electronic Integration : Integrate electronic interfaces into the purchasing function.Other Responsibilities as Assigned :
Regular exercise of independent judgment in significant matters.Consistent and punctual attendance; may require working nights, weekends, or additional hours as needed.Job Specifications : Education :
Required : Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering, or Materials Management.
Certifications :o Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
o Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
o Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
Years of Experience : Minimum of 6-8 years in purchasing / managerial roles.Required Skills :
