Position Summary
The Property Maintenance Specialist is courteous and professional when working with university members. Responsibilities include light equipment repair and maintenance, drywall repair, patching, and painting, with a strong understanding of paint and stain products and application techniques. This role involves reading and comprehending work order details, working on construction projects, and performing other tasks as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assess areas for repair and determine required techniques, tools, materials, and budget.
- Prepare and protect work surfaces.
- Install lab and office furniture and equipment.
- Perform light-duty repair and maintenance on building equipment under supervision.
- Install drywall and apply primer, paint, and finishes.
- Transport necessary materials to job sites.
- Communicate with clients to ensure expectations are met.
- Provide recommendations to improve work output.
- Clean up work areas daily and upon project completion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3 years of residential and/or commercial maintenance experience.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean record.
- Familiarity with a range of painting tools and techniques.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to read blueprints to determine materials required for projects.
- Proficiency in painting, spraying, and drywall repair.
- Working knowledge of small equipment and appliances.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Physical strength and manual dexterity.
- Reliable work ethic and effective time management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with light commercial carpentry.
- Experience with residential repairs and maintenance.
- Commercial drywall installation experience
