POSITION DESCRIPTION: Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in processing liquid egg product for shipment and storage. Responsible for the overall Breaker Plant operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Direct and advise the plant staff on all phases of plant operations.
  • Oversight of Breaker Plant Night Sanitation Crew.
  • Verifies inventories, preparation of receipts, and movement of eggs, according to company and industry standards.
  • Schedule processing according to type of eggs ordered, delivery date, availability of eggs, and capacity of machines.
  • Responsible for interviewing and hiring new employees, and coordinating orientation schedule with Human Resources Department
  • Familiarize and insure Breaker Plant Personnel compliance and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices Handbook (GMP) policies.
  • Responsible for training, regular individual employee evaluation and promotion consideration, employee familiarization and compliance with all company policies and regulations, employee relations, employee grievances, and wage administration.
  • Timely scheduling of all salaried and hourly employees.
  • Insure Breaker Plant compliance with all Federal, State, Local, and company sanitation regulations.
  • Coordinate regular communication with Breaker Plant Quality Control Manager with respect to start-up activities, maintaining product formulation, and product quality.
  • Assist in evaluation of effectiveness of Breaker Plant Sanitation and Safety Programs.
  • Completion and transmittal of all appropriate paperwork associated with Breaker Plant and Inedible Plant operations.
  • Coordinates with Sales Department, Dispatch (Transport) with regard to customer sales and delivery schedules.
  • Participates in maintaining positive customer relations.
  • Inform (within a reasonable time frame) the Complex Manager of any urgent or emergency situations, which require immediate attention or approval.
  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary or vital to Rose Acre Farms operations or interests.
  • Insure housekeeping duties are routinely completed.
  • Familiarize themselves and conform to all Rose Acre Farms’ Biosecurity Program policies.
  • Must be able to lift 65 lbs. Must be able to reach area only accessible by ladder. Must be able to climb to and work on equipment in hard-to-reach areas.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred.
  • Capable of performing routine math calculations, including percentages and fractions.
  • Good communication skills (i.e. written and verbal).
  • Must be computer literate (i.e., working knowledge of WordPerfect, Word for Windows, Excel, Lotus 123).
  • Be available to work flexible hours - including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to quickly address critical and urgent situations.
  • Possess good decision making skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.
  • Must be willing and able to work past the scheduled leave time to complete the job, if needed.
  • Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting.
  • Must maintain professionalism with coworkers.
