Job Description
The Food Safety and Quality Manager will lead the execution of food safety and quality programs, system assessments, and implementation, and related technical services including sanitation, regulatory compliance, internal and external compliance audits, facility food safety, and associated training.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring that all FSQ programs are in place for the production and storage of all products manufactured under clean, safe, and wholesome conditions.
- Lead efforts in identifying root cause of quality issues, establish corrective actions and follow up to ensure resolution.
- Lead all food safety and quality audits including but not limited to SQF, customer, regulatory and internal.
- Works with FSQ Technical Services team to develop and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or similar degree is preferred. Proven equivalent work experience will be considered.
- One to three years in Food Safety and Quality in food manufacturing is preferred.
- The ideal candidate would be a person who has leadership skills, experience in the function and has been a supervisor.
- He or she will also demonstrate strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills and have the ability to work on a computer (understanding Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
