Description
Position Summary :
Rose Buds is the developmental swim team at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center (RBAC). The team serves as a feeder program for competitive aquatics programs at RBAC. Rose Buds coaches are a critical part of the RBAC's youth coaching staff, and give many kids their first experience in a structured, competitive aquatic environment. Rose Buds coaches bring energy, swimming expertise, and enthusiasm to practice every day. This position reports to the Director of Developmental Swimming and the Head Swim Coach.
General Responsibilities :
- Coach swimmers ages 6-18, following practice plans created by Director of Developmental Swimming;
- Assess new swimmers during tryouts and help new families register for the program;
- Communicate with parents about swimmer progress;
- Actively participate in weekly coaches meetings; and
- Maintain active USA Swimming Coach membership, including all courses and certifications
Position Requirements
Preferred Qualifications :
Prior experience with USA Swimming programs, either as an athlete or a coach. Previous experience teaching swim lessons, coaching other sports, or working with kids ages 6-18.
Working Conditions :
Work is generally performed outdoors involving potentially inclement weather conditions. Position requires regular contact with the public, swim athletes and parents. Must be able to work under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and adhere to deadlines.
