Job Description: Tutor
Rose Family Counseling Center is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to provide in-home and community-based tutoring services in Northwest Indiana. As a tutor with us, you will play a vital role in improving the academic performance of school-aged youth, helping them achieve proficiency consistent with Indiana Department of Education academic standards.
We are looking for individuals who love teaching, are friendly, articulate, and reliable. This position offers flexibility to schedule your own sessions and hours, along with the opportunity to work within a diverse, mission-driven team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality tutoring tailored to students’ academic needs and goals.
- Prepare lessons, activities, and worksheets aligned with the student’s curriculum and Indiana academic standards.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians to ensure progress and address academic challenges.
- Maintain detailed records of sessions and progress for each student.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or at least 60 post-secondary credit hours in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable transportation.
- Automobile insurance.
Background Checks:
Per federal, state, and DCS policy, the following background checks must be completed with satisfactory results:
- Child Protective Services (CPS) History Check.
- National Sex Offender Registry Check.
- Fingerprint-based State Check.
- Local Law Enforcement Check.
Job Type:

Preferred Experience:
- Case management: 1 year (preferred).
- Prior teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or homeschooling experience.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- Effective communication skills with both students and adults.
- Excellent writing skills.
