Job Description
Required Education.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering.
Required Qualifications.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Experience in mechanical design, fabrication, and assembly.
• GD&T experience.
• Become familiar with machining techniques
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerances.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with ordering parts and working with suppliers.
• Hands-on mechanical assembly experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications.
• Become familiar with the SAP PLM system.
The client is looking for a skilled Mechanical Designer for a contract position. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SolidWorks, capable of designing mechanical parts and assemblies, ordering parts, and assisting with assembly. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to translate design concepts into functional components.
Responsibilities:
• Designed mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Generate detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
• Select and order appropriate materials and components.
• Collaborate with engineers and vendors to ensure design feasibility.
• Assist with prototype assembly and testing.
• Troubleshoot and revise designs based on testing and feedback.
