What are the responsibilities and job description for the Therapeutic Horseback Riding Instructor position at Rose Riding?
We are seeking a responsible Therapeutic Horseback Riding Instructor to organize a new therapeutic riding program starting with 1-on-1 private riding lessons and 30-45 minute trails. The ideal candidate must have a PATH International Therapeutic Riding Instructor Certification and at least 2 years of horse handling experience.
Pay Rate:
- $16/hr with 0-30 hours per week depending on riders' bookings.
Minimum shift is 2 hours upon a booking of 1 lesson. Maximum shift is 3 lessons back to back. Additional hour per shift is compensated for horse management before and after the lesson.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct therapeutic horse activities.
- Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Implement lesson plans according to rider's limitations and level.
- Develop and maintain a positive and encouraging rapport with students, fostering a sense of accomplishment and confidence.
- Manage and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the equipment.
- Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate activity schedules.
- Monitor and maintain the health and well-being of the horses, ensuring their safety and happiness.
Experience:
- Required: PATH Intl Therapeutic Riding Instructor Certification.
- 2 years of horse management is preferred.
- Ability to lift 25lbs and safely work during 90F heat for at least 2 hours.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
Training:
Upon hire, your first 3 shifts will include paid training to learn specifics of our facility and horse management.
