What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Help Desk Technician position at Rosebud Mining Company?
Rosebud Mining Company is looking to fill an IT Help Desk Technician position. The ideal candidate will be able to work under limited supervision, configure, install and maintain computer hardware and software.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist end-user computers, approved software, Microsoft 365 Suite programs.
- Provide secondary support to Windows network and server administration.
- Conduct and/or recommend user specific training and other related knowledge transfer activities.
- Assist in evaluation of PC software packages.
- Provide support for systems and applications within the user community (this support may occur after normal working hours).
- Prepares documentation for procedures and applications.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Comply with state and federal law safety regulations when offsite in remote locations
- Develop and maintain documentation
- Other related duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Most duties will be performed within our main office environment with the majority of time sitting at a computer, there will be travel to regional remote mine office locations on a weekly basis. Tasks may include work on various computer supported equipment and could entail the ability to lift equipment up to 40 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a working knowledge of Intel based PC’s (Windows), TCP/IP networking, printers, network cards, modems, monitors, serial, USB and other computer devices.
- Working knowledge of current mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones.
- Knowledgeable of Microsoft Windows applications and have the ability to install various 3rd party software.
- Ability to diagnose and trouble shoot computer hardware and software.
- Ability to travel regionally to remote office sites within a 6 county area.
- Scheduled to work typical 1st shift hours, with flexibility to work outside of normal working hours according to business and operational needs. This includes occasional evenings and weekends.
- Must be a team player with excellent work ethic and interpersonal communication/people skills.

Education:
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience:
1-5 Years working experience in PC support area required.

Kittanning, PA main office and multiple regional location support.
