Position Summary:
Join Our Dynamic Team as an Adjunct Faculty Member!
As an Adjunct Faculty member in the College of Dental Medicine's Orthodontic Clinic in Henderson, Nevada, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of dental professionals. Your primary focus will be on the hands-on, clinical, and pre-clinical training of students in the field of general dentistry. This exciting opportunity involves supervising both students and faculty as they engage in patient and simulated patient care activities. You will also be responsible for evaluating and assessing student progress in the College’s state-of-the-art patient and simulation clinics. Your expertise will help guide students toward excellence in their clinical skills while making a real impact on their educational journey!
Essential Functions:
- Clinical/Simclinic teaching utilizing a proactive and engaged learning model
- Didactic teaching utilizing Mastery Learning
- Utilize evidence-based science in didactic and clinical teaching
- Integrate Biomedical Science in didactic and clinical teaching
- Oversee and provide patient care as needed in the College’s clinics
- Oversee and provide simulated patient care as needed in the College’s SimClinic
- Manage and assess student progress toward competency
- Required to be standardized in Clinic/SimClinic operation and approved treatment modalities
- Adapt to current and future technologies (i.e. digital impressions, input of patient data) utilized at the CODM
Qualifications:
- DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited US or Canadian dental school or equivalent
- Must be eligible for licensure in Nevada at the time of application and receive licensure within 3 months of hire
- Acquire certification in all specialty areas within one year of hire
- Completion of a CODA-approved, post-doctoral residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics
