Position Summary:

As a full-time faculty member at Roseman University, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students. You’ll coordinate, plan, and deliver dynamic classroom instruction while engaging in a variety of related activities that enrich learning.

Your responsibilities will extend beyond teaching; you’ll be actively involved in student remediation and contribute to committee work, all while being flexible to fulfill duties during the day, evening, or weekend as needed. We encourage your participation in local, state, regional, and national professional activities, connecting with peers and enhancing your expertise.

In addition to your primary responsibilities, you’ll also collaborate with the President, Chancellor, Pharmacy College Dean, Utah Campus Dean, Associate Deans, Assistant Deans, and other designated leaders to support the university’s mission and objectives. Your commitment to excellence will help foster an inspiring educational environment for our students!

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate, plan, organize, and instruct courses in the day, evening, or on weekends on any Roseman University campus as assigned;
  • Keep active at a high level of expertise in the subjects taught and stimulate enthusiasm for those subjects;
  • Ensure that each program/class contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency;
  • Recommend textbooks and other instructional materials including classroom and laboratory equipment to the College Dean;
  • Assist in the college’s library collection development by selecting, evaluating, and weeding library resources in each appropriate discipline;
  • Teach all classes/blocks according to an approved course syllabus;
  • Keep students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements;
  • Conduct student evaluations and complete other college evaluations in accordance with college policy;
  • Ensure that assigned classes/blocks and student performance evaluations are held as scheduled;
  • Make suggestions to the Dean concerning the improvement of the curriculum in keeping with the objectives of the college;
  • Participate in program and curriculum review and development and student learning outcomes initiatives;
  • Plan each unit or lesson, both as to content and method, to make each class minute meaningful;
  • Organize each course taught into an effective instrument of learning;
  • Study and utilize students' learning styles in each class in order to facilitate the best teaching and learning situations;
  • Incorporate instructional technologies in instructional delivery;
  • Maximize the learning opportunities for each student;
  • Keep informed of current trends and new approaches to instruction via professional development activities;
  • Demonstrate a genuine concern for each student through personal conferences;
  • Assist in recruitment and retention of students;
  • Be available to conference with students during regular working hours and other times as scheduled;
  • Strive for the qualities delineated in the criteria for faculty evaluation used by the college;
  • Refer students to appropriate counselors as needed;
  • Submit required reports to the appropriate college personnel;
  • Attend all faculty meetings, open forums, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the President, Chancellor or Dean;
  • Become thoroughly familiar with and comply with all university and college policies and procedures;
  • Serve on and provide information to college committees as needed;
  • Be actively involved in the co-curricular activities of the college and university;
  •  Convey college and university related information to students in a timely manner as requested;

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or closely related field.
