POSITION SUMMARY

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) sales for the assigned trade area. This position is accountable for goal setting and achieving performance targets and manages the overall channel relationship and development for all products including trucks, loose equipment, and technology products.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

 

  1. Develops and maintains annual sales business plans which includes monthly and annual forecasts, targeted customer prospect lists, annual demonstration and regional show plans.
  2. Call on ARFF customers, giving presentations/demonstrations and selling directly to this market segment.
  3. Attends national trade shows/conferences, and regional shows where needed.
  4. Develop customer specifications and bids.
  5. Communicate and assists Post-Sales Department with truck delivery information, product specifications, service/warranty, and other ways to ensure customer satisfaction.
  6. Assists with strategic projects including fleet accounts, new product development, etc.
  7. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet company objectives.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Sales, or Marketing, or a similarly related field of study preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in fire equipment, emergency vehicle, or heavy equipment sales required.
  • 5 years of experience in fire equipment, emergency vehicle, or heavy equipment sales preferred.
  • General knowledge of firefighting vehicles or ARFF (aircraft rescue firefighting) preferred.

  • Able to read, analyze and interpret general trade periodicals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Able to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of diverse prospective clients.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions and communicate new information that could affect project trajectories.
  • Able to effectively communicate with tact and diplomacy at all times to develop relationships with internal and external contacts to provide excellent customer service and conflict management.

  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Computer:

  • Able to perform intermediate PC functions with Microsoft Office and QuoteWriter.

  • Able to deal with problems involving a variety of variables in non-standard situations.
  • Able to analyze product, market, and competitor information so as to lead optimal decision-making with complex sales and generally long sales cycles.
  • Able to work professionally with customers, dealers, and internal company personnel within engineering, manufacturing, and finance.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation abilities.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Able to apply strategy and mediate between customers/dealerships and Rosenbauer to ensure peak satisfaction from both parties.
  • Able to manage multiple and diverse projects, including analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, problem solving, decision making, and carrying out assigned projects with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
